Don’t be Afraid to Request a Waiver if You’re Late

OK…so you know you’re going to be a bit late on a payment…or you won’t be able to make a payment at all this month.  What do you do?  Simple…ask for foregiveness.  If you normally pay on time, banks and lending institutions will often give you a waiver for a month if you ask for it.  At the very least they may waive any late fees associated with a payment if you let them know in advance that you are going to be late.  It certainly doesn’t hurt to ask.  This could save your credit score from taking a nasty hit.  Remember to use please and thank you when speaking with the customer service representitive.  They are human also and often have the power to grant you a waiver if you aren’t late on a regular basis.
